Dan Browne VIEW PROFILE

Dan was born to Dorothy Kingery and Norman Richard Browne in Springfield, Ohio on February 20th, 1957. Dan grew up in a simpler time in Springfield. The city was there for the taking of the young baby boomers he grew up around. Dan graduated from Springfield North High School, and was an active member of the rifle drill team. He would go on to continue his work with the drill team after high school, competing across the country with his four brothers Rob, Terry, Mike, and Dennis. Dan would later graduate from Franklin University with a degree in computer engineering, though his passion for competition would never be forgotten. Along with a successful career in the software industry Dan found his niche in coaching. He started off small coaching the youth sports teams of his three children. Soccer would be the landing point for Dan’s success. He helped to grow the Catholic Youth Organization girls soccer team at Incarnation School, attended by his three children. He would continue on his coaching path to start and run the ISC Storm Soccer Club. Dan touched the lives of many athletes and kids in the Dayton area, but none were held more dear to him then his own. Claire, Rachel, Philip, and the most beloved by all Winston were the light of Dan’s life. Winston was the puppy of the family, and was held near to Dan’s heart, with much acceptance by the three children. Everything he did in life he did to help give his children every opportunity to succeed. Dan was a loving father, and all of those who knew him could not deny the strong love he had for his children. Dan will be greatly missed by those that knew him well, and loved him the most. He may be gone but will never be forgotten. Dan was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Dick, and brother Norman Jr. He is survived by his three loving children Claire, Rachel, Phil, and their mother Mary Porter, mother of his step children Tammy Browne, step children Brittany, Devon and Faith Grant, brothers Robert (Jane), Terry (Lorraine), Mike (Mary) and twin brother Dennis, numerous nieces, nephews and friends, especially his dear friend Jennifer Delaney. Family will receive friends Friday, October 7, 2016 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel; with Memorial Service to follow at 6:00PM. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter 6155Rockside Rd. Suite 403 Independence, OH 44131, in memory of Dan’s mother Dorothy Browne.
